Lightning McQueens Racing Academy
When you want to study a subject, it pays to learn from the best. Want to become a boxer? Who could teach you better than Muhammad Ali? Want to learn how to paint happy little trees? Take painting lessons from Bob Ross! Want to learn the secret of throwing a truly epic temper tantrum? Donald Duck is your man! So, if you want to learn how to be a champion race car driver, it only makes sense to study under the legendary Lightning McQueen. Lucky for you, that opportunity is now available at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.
Here’s everything you need to know about Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy!
1. What Is It?
Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is an immersive, 10 minute show. Guests will step into a wrap-around theater which features a 17 foot tall screen that is approximately 200 feet long. The show also features an “in-person” appearance by Lightning McQueen, a stunning Audio Animatronic that will share all the racing wisdom he’s amassed in his career.
2. Where Is It Located?
The attraction is located in the Sunset Showcase, near Aerosmith’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. There are three rows of bench seating located in the theater and Guests with mobility issues are welcome to stay in their wheelchair or ECV throughout the show.
3. FastPass
There is currently no FastPass option available for the attraction.
4. Trivia
Before the show begins, you can test out your Cars knowledge by answering trivia questions with Sally and Mack. Questions appear on the overhead screens.
5. Dance Party and Meet and Greet
After the show, Guests can still enjoy the world of Cars. There is a meet and greet with Cruz Ramirez, as well as music provided by DJ. Lightning McQueen’s Pit Crew will appear periodically throughout the day for the “DJ’s Ready! Set! Party Time!” dance party.
