Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello: "I Know What You Did Last Summer" Music Video Released
After the initial release of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” on November 18th, Shawn and Camila have given us the official video that goes along with it.
The video begins with the two walking towards each other, the air quiet, other then their voices. You can see that neither of them look happy, their eyes simply staring at one another. The wind then starts to pick up, and the sky grows gloomy.
The two are trying to get to each other, but it never happens. It’s as if they’re taking upward steps on a downward escalator; no matter how many steps you take upwards, you’re still going down (though treadmills were used).
The weather changes around them, snow beginning to fall around them.
Camila starts to look more desperate, while a pained expression moves onto Shawn’s features. The snow turns to rain, and both of them become drenched (though it’s not raining on Camila at first).
The video ends with Shawn standing alone in the dark.
The music video broadcasts two people trying to fix what they have, but inevitably, what happened between them permanently tore them apart. Both of them are desperate to get back to where they were, wanting to rationalize the cheating that went on, but you can’t repeat the past.
What did you think of the video? How did you interpret it? Watch Shawn and Camila’s video below if you haven’t, then tweet us at @CelebMix with your thoughts.
